About Me
Hello! I’m Cristina Adler, an Associate Clinical Independent Social Worker licensed in Washington state. My pronouns are she/they, and identify as queer and neurodivergent.
My approach is holistic, client-centered, and trauma-informed. I specialize in working with neurodivergent individuals, whether or not they have a formalized diagnosis of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder or Autism Spectrum Disorder. My intention is not to treat neurodiversity, but to help individuals and families navigate a world that often lacks accommodations for the diversity of human experience.
Therapy with me may look different than what you’ve seen on movies or television, or different from experience with previous therapists! I love to incorporate arts, crafts, toys, games, video games, music, and movement in sessions to help my clients understand their mental health and learn skills to help soothe or empower themselves. I want to meet my clients where they are at, and to collaborate on interventions that best suit their needs.
Prior to being a therapist, I have years of working in Special Education, family law, and community organizing. I graduated with my Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminology from Portland State University in Portland, Oregon, and my Master of Social Work degree from Fordham University in New York, New York. When I am not working with clients, I enjoy cooking and baking for friends, playing electric guitar, running Dungeons and Dragons campaigns, and crafting dollhouse miniatures.
